Sunday Sundown Rundown - 7/23/17

3 Up

1. Boy w/Double Hand Transplant - This is an amazing story! Not only is the young man the first to receive a double hand transplant, but he has functioning mobility in both hands. Better yet - he can now swing a bat! How cool is that?! And even better, what does this mean for others in the future? So cool.

2. Aaron Judge's Blast - Judge has been giving Yankee fans - and baseball fans - thrills all year long with the blasts he's been sending into orbit. His latest home run in Seattle, which broke STATCAST, was epic, and will surely be one that will have mythical proportions in the future.

3. What is America To Me - I love the opinion section of the New York Times - naturally as a blogger, why wouldn't I, right? Regardless, give this one a read regarding immigration, and the real life results of an issue we think of in just politics.

3 Down

1. John McCain - It's tough hearing that the senator has been diagnosed with brain cancer. Here is to hoping he battles, and defeats this nasty, ugly disease.

2. San Antonio Smuggling - The story coming out of San Antonio Texas is troubling, and disheartening. It sheds light on another perspective on immigration as many are smuggled here against their will, and that US Citizens are behind it. I can't even imagine the many other trucks, or various other ways, of others with similar results. So incredibly sad.

3. Chester Bennington - Linkin Park definitely broke many barriers and even crossed cultural lines. RIP Bennington, your music will live on.

2 SMH

1. OJ Simpson Parole - Was I the only one who couldn't believe the world once again surrounded OJ Simpson? And likewise, was I the only who couldn't believe that OJ had not changed over the past nine year? "Never been in conflict?" "Everyone loves me". Wow. October should be another media storm. God bless the Goldman family. I can only imagine the emotions his Mr. Goldman is going through.

2. Kyrie Irving - Talk about blowing up the NBA scene. Kyrie shocked the world, and now so many questions are up in the air, and so many domino effects are in place. On thing is for sure, the gap between Golden State and everyone else just got bigger.

WWE Wrestlemania XL Review: "I absolutely loved this Wrestlemania"

It's easy to get caught up and become a prisoner of the moment. Especially in today's world where the latest moment is ostracized, super-analyzed, and hyperbolized - it's very much the clickbait, social media, microwave society we live in.  Yet, even after acknowledging that (as well as my Tribal Chief, of course), I still come to this feeling that Wrestlemania XL is one of the best Wrestlemania's, ever.  Yes, ever!  I don't need Triple H's metrics and benchmarks to influence me. No, no, no! In terms of hype, storylines, payoffs, match quality, and just overall fun - this entire weekend was amazing.  I'm slightly skewed in my preference as well. This was my son's first Wrestlemania as a pro wrestling fan. Having him at my side cheering on his favorites, getting caught up in the drama, and even crying at the end of the night because his Tribal Chief lost to "that no good Cody" added to the overall appreciation of the event.  So yeah, I have some

NXT Stand and Deliver 2024 Review: 'For super casual NXT fans like me - no complaints here'

It's become officially a tradition that NXT Stand and Deliver makes Wrestlemania weekend feel like the ultimate wrestling weekend - as if it isn't already. There is just something about a major show being held midday on a Saturday, among the hype for the already dual night of Wrestlemania - that just emanates and screams - wrestling fans, don't go anywhere all weekend.   Nonetheless, NXT Stand and Deliver 2024 for this super causal NXT viewer was entertaining. I was well aware (and followed) the story of Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes (more on that in a bit) more so than the other happenings, but that didn't matter. The show offered many reasons to check out Shawn Michaels' project on Tuesday nights.  With that said, here are some quick thoughts on NXT Stand and Deliver 2024:  - Baron Corbin is amazing on the NXT brand. For many reasons, he just never clicked for me on the major brands - and that very likely might not even be his fault. I didn't think Axiom an
