Would You Rather: Questions Answered #11-20

11. Would you rather spend three weeks cleaning the bathrooms at LAX or spend 48 hours under observation in a psychiatric ward?

I would probably prefer to spend the three weeks cleaning the bathrooms at LAX. 48 hours under observation really can be damaging, and quite frankly, if it's in isolation, that would be a nightmare. At least at LAX there is a silver lining experience that could come out of that work.

12. Would you rather get married through an arranged marriage or spend the rest of your life being single and never dating anyone?

Arranged marriage. That may sound crazy, but there are at least some odds of liking the person you are set up with. Heck, it might even be a hit. Being single and never dating, really, never sharing life with anyone - that's absolutely zero odds. I'll take my chances with the arranged marriage.

13. Would you rather have the next year off at full pay or get paid double at your current job for the next year?

Paid double. I actually love my job, and to be paid double with the same vacation time would be fantastic. Plus, the extra money would give me so much more opportunities and financial support for options for my vacations.

14. Would you rather eat three whole raw habanero peppers or perform CPR on a stranger?

CPR on stranger. At least I'm potentially saving a life, the worst, helping someone in dire need. What would be the point of eating raw habanero peppers?

15. Would you rather live without TV for the rest of your life or give up coffee for good?

Give up coffee. I like coffee, but I also like tea. TV is essential for me in baseball season. Coffee is not worth that at all. Not even close.

16. Would you rather give up your smartphone for two months or give up alcohol for a year?

Alcohol for a year. With my job, I survive on a smartphone. And personally, from my music, to blogs, to reading news, to whatever, my smartphone - much like everyone these days - is very essential.

17. Would you rather give up Instagram forever or eat the same meal for the rest of your life?

Ummm, bye Instagram. I love ya, but I like food more.

18. Would you rather not use email for a week or be hungover for four days?

Being hungover for four days sounds like hell. Really. I hate being hungover for a few minutes. I would give up e-mail for a week for sure.

19. Would you rather win a free laptop or a trip to Hawaii?

Hahaha - hello Hawaii! I'll buy my own laptop, thanks.

20. Would you rather eat roadkill for the rest of your life or have every person in the world sound like Gilbert Gottfried?

This is a rather weird one. Actually, seriously weird. I'll go with having everyone sound like Gilbert Gottfried. Sounds like a "them" problem. Give me something else to eat and enjoy rather than "roadkill"

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 9/17/17

3 Up
1. JJ Wyatt - Not only has the man raised over $37M for Hurricane Harvey relief, but unlike many of the various charities we have become accustomed to, Wyatt is very transparent in how he will spend the money, and what he plans to do. Still in such awe of this.
2. Tim Duncan - In the same spectrum as Wyatt is one of my favorite athletes, Tim Duncan. A native from the US Virgin Islands, Tim Duncan has been instrumental in Hurricane Irma relief by donating 20,000 pounds of food to the area. Such awesome stories in the midst of all these Natural disasters. The power of the human spirit is so great.
3. Cleveland Indians - 22 Baseball games in a row. The Indians record winning-streak came to an end  this week, but it is damn impressive. Are they NOT the choice to make it back to the World Series from the American League?
3 Down
1. London Attacks - SMH on these terrorists attacks. My heart goes out to those affected by more senselessness in the world.
2. White House on Jemele Hill -…

Dope Sports Threads - Nike NBA Uniforms

When Nike was announced as the new provider of the NBA uniforms, formerly designed by Adidas, I was very intrigued on what the super creative company would do. The team of Adidas and the NBA always felt a little...well, off. Nothing wrong with either brand, they just don't seem like a good fit for one another. Hence, we got jerseys with sleeves and such under their term.
Go back to soccer, Adidas. It's where you shine.
Enter, Nike. And this is the perfect fit for the NBA. And thus far, the designs, names of uniforms, and feel for the upcoming aesthetics within the NBA is awesome. Again, Nike just doing Nike things.
With the the new uniforms, as always, here are a few notes on the latest:

Goodbye Melo

I've wanted this for the Knicks, and today I got it.

Carmelo Anthony is no longer a New York Knick heading into the 17-18 NBA Season.

No, I don't dislike Melo. In fact, if you go through previous posts you'll know, I find Melo to be a very, very good player. However, I just thought it was time for the Knicks to move past this era, and truly - like, really - rebuild.

Most importantly, build around Kristaps Porzingis.

But, again, for me, I've always - ALWAYS - believed that Carmelo Anthony needed to be the #2 (or #3) guy on a team. Watching him night in and night out as a Knick, he just never seemed to be the type of guy who lifts those around him. Again, he's a tremendous player but the track record is there. I don't buy into the "he's never had much around him" argument.

Have you seen the Knicks roster in comparison to the rest of the Eastern Conference the last few years?

Dome Pondering - 2012 Year in Review

Mic check. One, two, three. Mic check. Okay, so we're on, and hey, we're still alive! Stupid Mayans. Welcome to the DP's signature post of the year, the Year in Review. Each year, as we did last (Dome Pondering Year in Review - 2011), we take a look back at the calendar year and prepare for the next one ahead. With a packed and eventful 2012, there is much to delve into and plenty to prepare for in 2013.
Before we do, I'd like to simply thank all of the DP devotees out there for your continued support and interest in this little blog called Dome Pondering. While it seems I've come to say the same thing every time at this part of the year, it bears repeating that this site full of my thoughts and words has grown tremendously over the last three years because of you. It seems the older I become and the less time I have, the more I am able to punch the keys. I don't get it either, and I'm not even going to try to figure it out. Nonetheless, thank you once ag…
