Dome Pondering Movie Review: Deadpool (2016)

What is it about?
A mercenary stricken with cancer, turns to an alternative rogue experiment that leaves him with the special powers of accelerated healing powers, thus adopting the alter ego of Deadpool.

Who is in it?

Ryan Reynolds - Deadpool

Morena Baccarin - Vanessa

Ed Skrein - Ajax

TJ Miller - Weasel

Favorite Scene:

While chasing fighting off bad guys, Deadpool is left with only 12 bullets to fight off the entire brigade. He begins an interesting and humorous way of counting off the bullets used while escaping the situation. The visual of the bullets are also very cool.

Favorite Quote:

Deadpool: LOOK! Im a teenage girl, I'd rather be anywhere than here! I'm all about long sullen silences, followed by mean comments, followed by more silence! So what's it gonna be, long sullen silence, or mean comment? Go on, take your pick.
Negasonic Teenage Warhead: ...You got me in a box here.
Deadpool: AH-HAA!

Review:

Deadpool is absolutely fantastic. Just a fun, enjoyable, entertaining watch that blends many elements of humor, enticing visuals, and the unique breaking of the fourth wall in several instances. Again, I cannot say enough about how engaged you will be as a viewer of Deadpool.

Of course, there is the hot topic of a "Super Hero" movie being Rated R. I for one will say that I don't necessarily think most films need to be that of an R-rating. It works for Deadpool, and part of that element adds to the specialty of the film.

Ryan Reynolds really was fantastic in the role, a zone of being the overly sarcastic and humorous inidivudal he often pulls off so well. Again, my favorite part of this film is in fact the visual and art of storytelling that is the plot as it bounces from past to present. So well done.

All in all, Deadpool is a very good watch. Certainly very recommended

3 Up

1. September 11th Remembrance - So many years later, 9/11 still feels eerie and the day has an aura that resonates the tragic events from 2001. #NeverForget

2. David Ortiz Appearance - The appearance of Big Papi at Fenway was an inspirational one for the Boston mega star. On the heels of the senseless attack on him which in his native of the Dominican Republic, Ortiz's honest comments about the attack were a reminder of how precious life is - "I thought I was going to die."

3. Pro Wrestling Industry - This is a rare "up" from me for 2019. I haven't really be invlovled in pro wrestling this year, but you have to give major props to an industry that is announcing major television deals for multiple organizations and companies. Wrestling is VERY healthy, and starting in October, things should really get interesting.

The Pondering 10 - All-Time Favorite Championship Belts

With the WWE finally moving on from the ridiculousness that was the appearance of the WWE championship (Really, they kept a spinning title for eight years), and of course the unveiling the look of the title, it got the wheels turning on the best looks for championship belts. From pro wrestling, boxing (although, don't expect to see any on this list as they are usually ugly), and mixed martial arts, there are plenty of different models, types, and appearances that come with them. The following Pondering 10 list is my favorite all-time championship belts.

The Unity Road Writings: On The Other Side

41 Days to go.
As the invitations come in, and yay’s and no’s each get their own individual reaction from my tag team partner and I, the reality of 9.24 becomes clearer and clearer. It’s almost like wiping the fog off of a mirror, with the vision and expectation for 9.24 now becoming clear. And as we begin to scratch those from the list of 162 who aren’t coming, and even double scratch with an eye-roll on those who aren’t coming for crazy reasons (you know who you are!), a lot of the planning is now entering into the minor logistical phase. Who is walking down the aisle where? What songs does the organist play? What is the format order of the reception? What will my theme song be? Just kidding on the last one. Well, sort of… Yet, the hard stuff is out of the way, and the minor, some would say, fun, things are now on tap. This past weekend, my tag partner and I had the opportunity to attend my cousin’s wedding, held in Long Island, NY. A beautiful wedding indeed, and one that we would h…

The Pondering 10 - Common Fashion Dislikes

I'm no fashion expert, and by no means am I credible enough to offer advice on trendy looks and what's currently in-style. After all, I am a six-foot five, two hundred-forty pound man that often shops through Big and Tall sections. And for those of you who are fashion bloggers and fashion fanatics, take a look at those Big and Tall areas at your local mall and see exactly what we have to work with. It's hard. And its tough. A Big and Tall fashion blog is desperately in need for us above-average in size folks. Nonetheless, I like to believe I make it work. However, what doesn't work are certain fashionable uses by individuals that simply bug the heck out of me. Some might agree, and others may find these to be ridiculous, but I'll leave that up to  you, and I'd love to hear feedback from the fashionably gifted. The following Pondering 10 are common fashion uses that I absolutely dislike.
