Are We Losing Sight of LeBron's Value?

It's certainly not hard to take shots at LeBron James. Many have been doing it for years now, and with Steph Curry becoming the favored darling of the league and it's fans (myself included - how can you not be?), LeBron's latest comments surely will not sit well with a few.

Is Steph Curry the MVP of the NBA? In my opinion, yes. The dude deserved it last year, and surely improved a lot and deserves it even more so this year. But is LeBron completely wrong for questioning the validity or meaning of the award? More specifically, of the term "valuable"?

Let's be honest, the moment LeBron sat in a chair across from Jim Gray at a Boys and Girls Club in Connecticut and held the basketball world hostage on the fate of where he was taking his talents, he's lost the support of a few - forever. And That I understand. I can see that.

But really, can a claim for "most valuable" be directed towards LeBron? The Cavaliers are surely not the same team without him. And no need to check the numbers - 25.3 ppg; 7.5 rbg; 6.8 apg - pretty much have solid ground. There is a lot of "value" in that, in him playing for the Cavaliers.

And in a league where voters tend to sway towards the lonesome guy, the guy carrying a team through and by his standards over the guy that is doing it on a great team - this time, a 73 win team - the fact that Curry won the award and did so unanimously is very telling.

The term "valuable" is one that can always be debated. Value to team, league, or in terms of monetary concerns - whatevs. I also very mush dislike the addition of a "Most Outstanding" award. The MVP debate is always good for sport.

Regardless of your definition of the term, or how you think the award should be defined, it's telling that maybe - just maybe, in the unbelievable-ness and must-see appeal that is Steph Curry, we are forgetting about the other marvel and wonder in sports - LeBron James.

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/22/18

3 Up
1. Tammie Jo Shults - Kudos to the captain of the Southwest aircraft that blew an engine. Shults was able to land the plane safely with busted engine, thus minimizing the fatality of the fiasco to just the one person who unfortunately was sucked out of a window. So crazy. All of it, so incredible.
1a. Southwest In-Flight Crew - More kudos to TJS's staff who not only pulled a woman being sucked out of a plane back into the aircraft, but managed to keep everyone onboard safe and poised during the emergency.
2. James Shaw Jr. - There were even more heroes this week as James Shaw Jr. wrestled a rifle away from a madman who rushed a Waffle House in Tennessee and opened up fire. Took lots of guts, but Shaw saved countless lives.
3. LeBron James - I don't understand how any sports fan can say anything about LeBron James. The dude once again is carrying a rather dubious contending roster on his back during these playoffs.

3 Down
1. Waffle House - More mass shootings...Ugh. I r…

The Pondering 10 - Favorite MLB Uniforms

Unlike most sports, baseball uniforms carry a lot of tradition and history. It's rare that you see baseball teams deviate away from the history of a club, and if they do, it's usually an ownership change. For the most part, in baseball, the uniforms are sacred. Because of that, Major League Baseball has many teams with uniforms that are very, very significant, and also, very stylish. As we did for the NFL (Pondering 10 - Favorite NFL Uniforms), the following Pondering 10 will take a look at my favorite MLB uniforms.

2013 Bucket List - #29 Attend Wrestlemania

It only took me twenty eight years and twenty-nine events, but I finally (finally!!) made it to Wrestlemania. I've attended so many wrestling events in my lifetime, from small local shows to pay-per-view events, from small local promotions, to the global companies, but never had I gone to the big one - Wrestlemania.
Upon hearing the huge event was returning to the metropolitan area at Met Life stadium, I knew I had to attend. As soon as tickets went on pre-sale, I purchased them...way back in November. I knew, if not now, then when? If not this year, then probably never. Some might not understand the importance of it, but to crazy wrestling addicts like myself, this is the show. And while it wasn't on the 2013 Bucket List, this was on my absolute lifetime list, and this past Sunday, I placed a big fat check mark next to it. The following is a little review of my Wrestlemania 29 experience, live!

The Pondering 10 - All-Time Favorite Championship Belts

With the WWE finally moving on from the ridiculousness that was the appearance of the WWE championship (Really, they kept a spinning title for eight years), and of course the unveiling the look of the title, it got the wheels turning on the best looks for championship belts. From pro wrestling, boxing (although, don't expect to see any on this list as they are usually ugly), and mixed martial arts, there are plenty of different models, types, and appearances that come with them. The following Pondering 10 list is my favorite all-time championship belts.
