The Pondering 10 - All-Time Favorite Championship Belts

With the WWE finally moving on from the ridiculousness that was the appearance of the WWE championship (Really, they kept a spinning title for eight years), and of course the unveiling the look of the title, it got the wheels turning on the best looks for championship belts. From pro wrestling, boxing (although, don't expect to see any on this list as they are usually ugly), and mixed martial arts, there are plenty of different models, types, and appearances that come with them. The following Pondering 10 list is my favorite all-time championship belts.

10. TNA X-Division Title - The current version of TNA's X-Division title is an innovative look, and one that pulls of the "X" in the nameplate in a cool manner. Great title that represents the ever evolving division.

9. Bellator MMA Championship Titles - The number two company in the MMA industry also provides it's champions with some pretty nice hardware to wear.

8. IWGP Heavyweight Championship - The older version of the IWGP title has always been a favorite of mine. Usually Japanese title belts are infused with a bit of Asian influence that sometimes doesn't really move me, but the IWGP strap has always been a good version of it.

7. WCW/WWE World Heavyweight Championship - The original WCW title which was remade once the company was bought by WWE is a lot nicer that the original "big gold belt" once was. It is a bit smaller and a bit more fit for human wear than the original WCW title.

6. WCW United States Championship - Much better than the remade WWE one, unlike the company's remake of the World Title. The title embodies it's purpose in perfect design.

5. TNA World Heavyweight Championship - The second version of the title, this belt, modeled after the awesome UFC titles is a great look.

4. UFC Championship Titles - A huge fan of these title belts, and quite frankly, is probably my favorite today.

3. WWF "Eagle" Championship Belt - A great belt that represented the WWE (then WWF) championship for many, many, years. The eagle is a design that worked well, and was used again in another design. More on that in a bit...

2. WWF/WWE Intercontinental Title - This design was awesome, and it really was a shame when the WWE went away from it. Kudos to them for bringing the design back, albeit with a white leather strap, which isn't quite the best look.

1. WWF Championship (Attitude Era) - This WWF/E championship design took the eagle design to another level. The design was larger, bu as the same time well designed. The face plate also worked with different colored leather straps (especially blue) which we have seen in the past. A very good looking title, and a design that is timeless.

1. ROH/ NJPW & MSG - I know, that sub header reads like a crazy jumbling of acronyms, however, kudos to Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling who sold out Madison Square Garden this week. The first sold out show at MSG by a company other than the WWE. If this isn't evidence of the massive change within the wrestling business in 2018, I'm not sure what it is.
2. Ramon Laureano Throw - That throw was absolutely insane. Just insane. Right on the money.
3. Wayne Rooney - Speaking of insane plays, how about Wayne Rooney continuing to do Wayne Rooney things in MLS with this insane clutch play. The placement on that cross was just crazy.

1. Unite the Right Rally - It's still insane to me how these types of rallies are still so common. Especially after Charlottesville last year. But yet, here we are. SMH.
2. Laura Ingraham - I don't even consider some of these talking heads on cable news legit anymore. What bothers me is not what they say, but the viewer…

1. Randy Moss' Tie - I don't care much for the NFL these days, but I did see the tie that Randy Moss wore for his induction. The tie acknowledged the many black men and women who were killed or died under various circumstances by law enforcement around the country. It's a nice gesture letting the families of those victims know they haven't been forgotten, and it's also one that once again brings to light the message that Kaepernick started. Not the anthem.

2. Jerry Jones Hypocrisy - Speaking of anthems...THIS was so fantastic. And so very true. By the way, remove the hat, Jerry! It's quite disrespectful to the flag and the anthem. Honestly, it's amazing how ridiculous this entire ordeal has gotten.

3. NRA Trolling - So the NRA is looking for money and are claiming they may cease to exist if they don't get the support. Kudos to the many who sent "thoughts and prayers" trolling the notorious organization. In a world where trolling is so co…

The IF Factor: Questions Answered #81-90

81. If you could enact one law in your country that does not currently exist, what would it be?

There would actually be quite a few. However, I would go with gun control. Nothing too elaborate, but the type of control that requires screening and effective security of allowing firearm usage in this country.
82. If you could own only one thing for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
I would probably choose a good pair of pants. Weird? Yes, most definitely. But a good pair of pants sets the tone, and for a big and tall guy like myself, dictates the comfort for the day. As hard as pants are to find for us big guys, I'd like to own one pair, thus renting or borrowing everything else. If you happen to be one of those folks that has your perfect pants size in every store, you most likely won't understand this.

Impact Comeback?

It wasn't long ago that I officially took my heart back from Impact Wrestling (then TNA). It was during this time in which Dixie Carter and crew had been taking the loyalty of it's fans for granted, and really, doing one of the greatest disservices in pro wrestling history when it came to the potential and positioning of the company.

Regardless, here we are with yet another chapter of this company (2nd under this new ownership). Yet,  in an intriguing way, this new era is easily my favorite in the company's history since, well,  maybe that 2002-2006 run when it provided an alternative to the mega giant that is Vince and friends.
