Full Timeout, Home Team

Well, we are at that point folks. After a year and a half of wedding planning, apartment hunting, saving, spending, listing, delegating, searching, living, and many of the other things life has thrown this way, yours truly and my tag team partner are going on vacation. A twenty-second timeout in life as my tag team partner would say. It has been awhile since our last excursion, two and half years to be exact, and it is amazing to see how much our lives have changed since then. We have our new home, a new life together, and for her, a new last name.

After such changes, which of course has seen us go down a Unity Road, we are in dire need of this twenty-second timeout, or as in this case, a complete full timeout. With 9.24 getting smaller and smaller in our rear view mirror, the time is upon us to head down to St. Lucia for seven days of relaxation and fun in the sun for our honeymoon.

And while we plan on bringing our laptops, the tag team partner and I have already promised ourselves and each other that the e-mails, the text messages, the Google searches, the blackberry alerts, and yes, even the Dome Ponderings will be on break as well. What!? Yup, I’m throwing the keys on the table for seven days.

Although punching the keys on vacation has brought about some awesome posts, my favorite being the California Chronicles of 2009, this vacation is different. It’s about not only spending (finally) some time with my wife, but rejuvenating myself – mind, body, and soul.

I’m going cold turkey.

No punching of the keys.

I ‘m sure many thoughts will turn and spurn (Hello Clyde Frazier writing!) in my head, as it is impossible to shut that section off in my brain. There is always that great urge to begin slamming away on my laptop (more so waiting at the airport). However, in order for me to maintain sharpness and not have my ponderings dribble into useless fodder (almost like this post), I need to step away.

So yes, once again, I’m throwing down the keys to the small machine that is Dome Pondering. I urge all DP devotees, casual readers, and first time visitors to send feedback on future topics, genres, past posts, or general thoughts upon the return from our timeout.

The whistle has blown…

Timeout, home team.

See you all in seven days.

WWE Wrestlemania XL Review: "I absolutely loved this Wrestlemania"

It's easy to get caught up and become a prisoner of the moment. Especially in today's world where the latest moment is ostracized, super-analyzed, and hyperbolized - it's very much the clickbait, social media, microwave society we live in.  Yet, even after acknowledging that (as well as my Tribal Chief, of course), I still come to this feeling that Wrestlemania XL is one of the best Wrestlemania's, ever.  Yes, ever!  I don't need Triple H's metrics and benchmarks to influence me. No, no, no! In terms of hype, storylines, payoffs, match quality, and just overall fun - this entire weekend was amazing.  I'm slightly skewed in my preference as well. This was my son's first Wrestlemania as a pro wrestling fan. Having him at my side cheering on his favorites, getting caught up in the drama, and even crying at the end of the night because his Tribal Chief lost to "that no good Cody" added to the overall appreciation of the event.  So yeah, I have some

DP Review of the Alternate Knicks Orange Jersey

One of the good aspects about having a blog and being truthful and honest about it, is the hindsight thought process it provides. DP devotees already know how much I love my New York Knicks, and how excited I was about their new jerseys last year. It was a new look that was desperately needed ( DP Review On Knicks New Uniforms ).  In reviewing those jerseys last year, I had the following comments in regards to then-rumors regarding the addition of an alternative orange jersey for the Knicks and overall NBA changes to the Christmas Day special jerseys:  "As long as we do not add an "alternative jersey" (I read rumors of an orange one - woof!) (and the league-wide Spanish jerseys are fine). And please, please - PLEASE - let's finally do away with the awful green jerseys we feel the need to wear on Christmas and St. Patrick's day! Pretty please!"
