Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/29/18

3 Up  1. LeBron - Yo, whoever doubts or speaks down upon this guy's abilities should be banned from watching all sports - forever. LeBron once again - shocker - put on a show today in a Game 7.  2. Weather Forecast - Whoa! Is that 70+ degree days I see ahead here in the Northeast? Even two consecutive 80+ degree days? Where are my shorts?! 3. Did Gregorious - Barring LeBron's un-human-like ability in basketball, is any athlete hotter than Didi right now?  3 Down 1. Toronto Terrorism - This is sickening and just utter disappointing. So ridiculous.  2. Bill Cosby - Justice has been served. It's still so crazy how time and perceptions can change, especially when we think we know a person. Oh by the way...when does Harvey Weinstein get charged up for what he did?  3. Kanye - Look, the man is in fact entitled to his own opinion on politics. However, I find it rather odd he's acting all crazy with an album set for release very soon. But I do m

Back at Caz

Well, who knew?  I stepped on the campus of Cazenovia College in 2003 and it was weird then. A first-generation student with no concept of what college really was and what I should expect, and even more so, how I socially would integrate to campus culture and college lifestyle - for lack of a better phrase, it was all well, weird.  Today, I'm now a college graduate, having completed graduate school (and oddly, doing it again for fun and interest), I stepped back onto that same campus in a much different role - as an alum returning, as an advocate for higher education and student affairs, and as someone who personally felt compelled to give back to a place (and the next wave of students who are like me) that gave me access and a launching board for my life today - again, this was weird too. Very weird.  Life is crazy. But again, there I was on the same quad fifteen years after I first stepped foot on it, eleven years after rocking a cap and gown, giving a speech to

3 Up 1. Tammie Jo Shults - Kudos to the captain of the Southwest aircraft that blew an engine. Shults was able to land the plane safely with busted engine, thus minimizing the fatality of the fiasco to just the one person who unfortunately was sucked out of a window. So crazy. All of it, so incredible.  1a. Southwest In-Flight Crew - More kudos to TJS's staff who not only pulled a woman being sucked out of a plane back into the aircraft, but managed to keep everyone onboard safe and poised during the emergency.  2. James Shaw Jr. - There were even more heroes this week as James Shaw Jr. wrestled a rifle away from a madman who rushed a Waffle House in Tennessee and opened up fire. Took lots of guts, but Shaw saved countless lives.  3. LeBron James - I don't understand how any sports fan can say anything about LeBron James. The dude once again is carrying a rather dubious contending roster on his back during these playoffs.  3 Down 1. Waffle House -

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/15/18

3 Up 1. Bartolo Colon - Mannnnnnnn, this dude at 44 years old and at who knows how many pounds overweight, almost threw a perfect game against the defending World Series Champions on National television. Bartolo, don't you ever change.  2. Beyonce - I probably could just leave this "UP" as just "Beyonce", and really, most wouldn't even bat an eye at it. Regardless, she earned it this week, slaying as always. Beyonce killed it at Coachella with some awesome performances, reuniting with Destiny's Child, and of course, making history as the first black woman to headline the festival.  3. New York Mets - Even this Yankees fan has to give it up to the Mets and their hot start. They are playing some fun baseball, and well, it's backed by those big arms they need to rely on. Kudos to the Amazin's!  3 Down 1. Philadelphia Starbucks - For those who don't understand "white privilege", here is an example of the opposit

Wrestlemania 34: Damn! That's a Dope Set...and Other Good Stories

Courtesy: WWE.com What a weekend! Everything about Wrestlemania Weekend this year was fantastic. From Wrestlecon and all of the non-WWE companies putting on shows in New Orleans, to NXT, to of course the big show that holds it all together - Wrestlemania.  Funny thing is, while I've watched countless hours of pro wrestling this weekend, the only thing surfacing to the top constantly was this very thought - Damn! That's a Dope set! Because you know what, it was. It sooooooo was! But that's just the geek in me that loves the creativity and aesthetics part of pro wrestling...or, just about anything event-related.  With all of that said, here are some quick notes on Wrestlemania 34:

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/8/18

3 Up  1. Wrestlemania Weekend - Wrestlemania Weekend is now SO much more than just the biggest wrestling show of the year. Any and everything that is wrestling descends upon the host city and it is absolutely awesome. I've been watching countless hours of wrestling each night since Friday, and all of it - ALL OF IT - has been extraordinary. Wrestlemania here in NYC next year might be a problem. :) 2. Black Panther - I haven't seen the film yet. Of course, I haven't been to a movie theater since January 2007. No for real, that's true. However, the money this film is making is incredible. See what happens when you include various identities into Hollywood? 3. Wrestlemania 34 Set - Yo, this deserved it's own "up" this week. That set was gorgeous. Easily one of my favorites. Kudos to the men and women who designed it, executed it, and built it. So, so pretty.  3 Down 1. YouTube Shooting - Why is our culture so filled with mass shooting

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 4/1/18

3 Up 1. Opening Day & Baseball - Mannnnn, it's absolutely tremendous to have baseball back! And right away, the game brought so much entertainment and interest. So glad to have the great game back, and back every-single-day.  2. New Human Organ? - This could be a major breakthrough for the fight against cancer. The idea that science is still adding new chapters and parts to the human body is astounding and mind blowing. The human body is such an amazing thing - such a complex and interesting, yet, beautiful thing.  3. Arike Ogunbowale - Two game winning shots, including one launch to win the 2018 National Championship for Notre Dame - Orgunbowale, have a week!  3 Down 1. Laura Ingraham - This woman is absolutely nuts. Not sure how so many defend her, or even, how so many entertain listening to her, but she has an audience that believes in her and her message each night. Regardless, her words towards Parkland survivor, David Hogg, now has her and her sh
