Sunday Sundown Rundown - 5/1/16

3 Up

1. Pay it Forward - I'm a sucker for stories on human decency and people doing nice things for one another. Imagine what the world was like if this were expected? Here is a video that has gone viral of a mom helping her daughter's day care teacher after realizing she walked to and from work everyday. Yup, the community helped raise money to buy her a care.

2. Confederate Memorial Removed - We're slowly learning as a nation that these "memorials" really are nothing but pieces which honor slavery and our troubled past with race. Kudos to the University of Louisville for taking strides towards what is right.

3. Enzo Amore OK - Some wrestling fans do nothing but complain, complain, complain! They often lose sight of the risks and sacrifices these men and women make to simply entertain us fans. Tonight, we were reminded by that for a brief moment when Enzo Amore suffered a scary accident during a match which had to be stopped. Luckily, Enzo will be fine. For wrestling fans, quit being so critical on pointless things, and just appreciate the effort involved.

3 Down

1. Dee Gordon - Just when you think PEDs are behind us, stories like Gordon getting caught pop up, and redefine everything from what possible users "look like" to proper discipline, to more effective ways to curtail cheating.

2. Beyonce "Marketing" - Look, I'm not sure what to take away from the drama surrounding Beyonce's latest album. If she's being real, then that's great for her. I pretty much will lose all (remaining) respect for Jay-Z. However, from all angles, this all seems like a marketing ploy to sell albums, and if it is, I think that's extremely tacky.

3. Yankees Offense - Worst. Offense. In. Baseball. Period. #facts

1 What?

1. Starbucks Lawsuit - Why does our justice system waste tax dollars on such idiotic lawsuits like this one? Why?! Why?! WHY?!

One More Year of Possible Frustration. A Future of Guaranteed Idiocy.

One Year.

After all the drama, after all of the controversy, it now comes down to one year for Isiah Thomas to turn around the mess that he created. Isiah has one year to improve the group of misfits that he has put together for an NBA roster.

One Year.

Good luck Isiah.

The fact of the matter is that the Knicks are a mess. They have become arguably the most embarassing franchise in sports. A collection of high-priced players with no resumes of winning else where combined with a lack of leadership on the coaching, front office and ownership level is a combustible formula for any sports organization. It's sad. It's sad to see an organization that is used to winning and has a history of greatness and class reduced to nothing. Guys such as Patrick Ewing, Clyde Frazier and Willis Reed all who have worn that illustrious blue and Orange "New York" across their chests with pride and dignity are now an afterthought. Madison Square Garden - the mecca of basketball, and most hi…

Pondering Picture #83

"Shitholes."
Look, I've tried to be fair with the President. Some countries and their current conditions are exactly that - shitholes. Very poor conditions. He's nothing but honest and blunt in his assessment.
However, his comment is just another in a continued (rather excessive) pattern of actions that alienates and divides, and continues to marginalize people of color. After a while, you learn it's not about immigration reform for this administration, but rather, the "kind" of immigrant here that will making this country "Great Again."

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 1/14/18

3 Up
1. Minnesota Vikings Win - It was the most football I've watched since last year's Super Bowl, and I'm actually glad I did. I watched the remaining 1:57 from a dinner establishment, and it was rather riveting. Such a cool moment for Stefan Diggs. In so many ways that entire scenario was rather unreal. Almost movie-like.
2. Don Lemon - Whoa! I think it's safe to say Lemon is not a fan of the President, and really, in some ways, become a voice for people of color under this current administration. His words on Thursday night were fierce, true, and authentic on how many POCs felt after the President's comments. It's a sudden change from Lemon's reputation following the Ferguson riots.
3. Mark Wahlberg - Sure, it took some public pressure. And sure, it may even look like a PR stunt. But still, Wahlberg did the right thing after news broke he earned $1.5 million and Michelle Williams earned $1,000. A donation in her name of the entire $1.5 million was the…

The Pondering 10 - All-Time Favorite Championship Belts

With the WWE finally moving on from the ridiculousness that was the appearance of the WWE championship (Really, they kept a spinning title for eight years), and of course the unveiling the look of the title, it got the wheels turning on the best looks for championship belts. From pro wrestling, boxing (although, don't expect to see any on this list as they are usually ugly), and mixed martial arts, there are plenty of different models, types, and appearances that come with them. The following Pondering 10 list is my favorite all-time championship belts.
