Pondering with Plumtree - PWP First Draft Spoilers, Creative Changes, Plumtree Unhappy, PWP Ratings, and More!

Pondering with Plumtree is a column on the popular blog, TNAsylum, that is written by yours truly. The blog is focused towards being a fan site for TNA Wrestling fans where they can get news, rumors, opinions, and any and everything else, TNA Wrestling. Known as "The Haven for TNA Wrestling Fans", I'm hoping to bring some of my thoughts to an already impressive roster of columnist for as long as the site will have me. You can read the latest column here, or in the text below.

We're bringing you the most accurate, the most hard-hitting, the most thought-provoking news and updates on the pro wrestling opinion scene. Yes, I have first hand knowledge and VERY precise sources (I know a guy, who knows this guy, who graduated from high school with this other guy, who works on the ground floor of these sites) and has the low-down knowledge of everything regarding PWP. We are your source for everything PWP!

 - The rumor going around is that PWP's last column produced some very intense moments during it's writing developments. Plumtree seemed to have been very unhappy with the introduction of the piece, and was overly demonstrative in front of his laptop as the final writing went live. Many of the editors were said to have been walking on egg shells around him. This might be a result of the PWP writing process slowing down in recent months.

- Following the last PWP article, once it went off the front page for good, there was said to have been a few moments where Plumtree broke kayfabe and went by his real name on Twitter to acknowledge a few departing staff. Many believe that the editors are leaving due to false promises of Taco Tuesdays - a once staple during the glory days of PWP.

Comments:

PWPHater: I just knew things weren't right with PWP. Plumtree just needs to sell the column already. What a joke.

Eric13H: I remember when PWP was good way back when. It's sad to see what has become of the column. I read once in a while, but I long for those days.

StonecoldJ12: Can't even afford lunch for the editing staff anymore? LOL WWE.com provides catering for everyone.

------

- There seems to be a rocky relationship between PWP and carrier, TNAsylum, for the past few months. It's been well documented that the logo for PWP has changed multiple times over the few months, and many believe this is the carrier's way of forcing PWP to break it's contract to leave. Plumtree denies the report, but has stated on his own podcast where he interviewed himself that he was promised extended column coverage, including a column where he wanted to post a repeat of his column the day after, which would include additional insider notes and opinions on top of his already stated notes and opinions. It is believed that TNAsylum never acknowledged the idea - ever.

Raiders4Life: This is so clear and obvious to readers. As soon as I saw the logo change, it was obvious that this relationship was on the outs. I am well educated on the situation of logo changes. I don't blame TNAsylum at all. The PWP column only does well because it has "This Week on IMPACT" as a lead in. I hope TNAsylum drops them soon. Plumtree is a moron. Someone else needs to take over this column for it to prosper.

PWPSucksIWC4Ever: Wow, people still read this guy's column? I'm sure PWP fans will have an excuse for this one.

-----

- There is some chatter within PWP that the column is looking to "reboot" itself with a creative change. We aren't sure exactly what this means, but we know that keywords like "creative" and "reboot" are hot button words that generates hits, drives interest, and spurs excitement and controversy among wrestling fans, and of course, pro wrestling column fans.

Plumtree has denied the report. Though, has announced a huge announcement in the first five sentences of the next column.

Some are speculating that the change has something to do with the rumored PWP tour on other sites which was never announced officially by PWP, or anyone  really, other than us, but has recently been cancelled, as mentioned previously by us. Our sources claim it's obvious this is part of the rumored budget cuts along with Taco Tuesdays.

Comments:

PWPSucks-IWC4Ever: Canceled tours. No Taco Tuesdays. Writing Columns, two, possible three posts ahead of time, pack it up PWP! What a waste!

IWriteRealGood14: No amount of change is going to help PWP. Too much damage has been done. I bet the announcement will be lame too.

- Hits for the PWP have seemingly been decreasing since last year. When comparing PWP's column to other viable and notable competitors such as ESPN.com, Facebook.com, The New York Times, and the Huffington Post, the PWP lags well behind in hits, interest, and comments posted. Many believe this has much to do with TNAsylum looking to get out from under their contract with the column. This has prompted the hashtag #PWPLOL on social media and throughout the IWC. We have heard the site expected the column to at least close the difference in readership in half by now. Which is completely reasonable by many of us reporting this.

Comments:

PWPSucks-IWC4Ever: HAHAHAHAHAHA! Wow, look at those hits and readership numbers! ESPN.com is so much better than this because it has higher readership and hits.

CraigLesterStopsEveryone: Honestly, PWP should have been competing with some of these sites by now. At the very least, some of their lesser read pages. Its been around for nearly two years now! PWP made way too many mistakes in the past in writing columns and not pushing the agendas of what is already popular among others. Back in the day during the Attitude Era, columns were edgy, smart, articulate, thoughtful, insightful, and enlightening. That was when it was the best. In fact, unicorns existed, pigs flew, and all was right with the world during the Attitude Era. I miss the Attitude era, it was absolutely glorious!

-----

- According to our sources, Plumtree has no interest in signing recent free agent, Bill Simmons to the PWP. Obviously, this is because the company has no money left for acquiring outside talent. Some speculate that due the development of Plumtree passing on the biggest free agent on the writing market, PWP may not finish the 2015 year as a column. Many speculate that the end is near.

Comment:

PWPSucks-IWC4Ever: LOL. Why would they NOT try to sign someone who can change their culture? PWP needs to grow their own stars, but sign the hot free agents. Plumtree has no clue AT ALL! I could do this so much better than him.

RockNRollEspresso: If there is anyone who would be a quick fix, it would be Simmons. Instant eyeballs. PWP could possibly run head to head with Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback. I have no idea why they aren't interested. They need to give him whatever he wants and sign him. At the very least, copy the style of Charles Dickens and Oliver Twist and give us some epic and historic literature that worked! The type that worked back in the Attitude Era! It's a shame, PWP had such promise.

 - Below are the spoilers for the upcoming PWP columns written from the small confines of the Plumtree Zone in a small NYC apartment. Read at your own caution, but we expect you to read it, judge it, and then criticize PWP for writing so far out in advance and ruining the future columns and the entire brand for you. Completely Plumtree's fault.

5/11/15 Writing

 - Plumtree wrote a pretty decent closing piece on what was said to have been a great post. Those who were around when he wrote it were instead unmoved and focused on the New York Rangers playoff game. The words did seem to work together well, unfortunately, they did not get a response from those in attendance. 2 stars for this one. Possibly, 2 3/7 if the fans were engaged.

5/12/15 Writing

 - Not a good writing at all. Again, those in attendance left midway through the writing, claiming need to watch the NBA Playoffs. Typical PWP Writing.

5/13/15 Writing

- Sketchy writing filled with errors, grammatical mistakes, and punctual gaffes. A writing that looks like it will need lots of post-production and editing to come off decent on the website. Typical PWP planning and execution.

PWPSucks-IWC4Ever: This look like GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't watch. But I'll comment on the threads of the shows later on.

Eric13H: Shocker, you comment on everything.

PWPSucks-IWC4Ever: Ok, dude - whatever. Stop being a PWP fanboy. You're just mad that PWP sucks!

---------

- Following the writings, many of the PWP editors, TNAsylum execs, and Plumtree tweeted about the success of the writings. Many have already said to have been proud of the future writings coming up throughout the summer. However, we have heard differently, because, you know, we just do. Truth is, PWP morale is down. Many aboard are already sending feelers out for work elsewhere.

Random Rhetoric

Anyone else really enjoy Hardcore War last week?

And as Talon stated in the "This Week on IMPACT", it is very much like Lethal Lockdown, but doesn't it seem to flow much better (and presented too) without the confines of the cage?

How great has Eric Young been this year?

Are you also a fan of the top five rankings as a "thing" now? You know, like an actual part of the product?

And wouldn't you also be pissed if the boys you run with chose some random guy over you to go to battle with? I feel for you Eli Drake.

Anyone else find Robbie E's basketball dance hilarious?

How cool was the breakdown and the comparison of sports series and the tag series by Matthews and Tenay? Didn't it give it a more serious, more strategic feel as well?

Speaking of Tenay, isn't he better when he's allowed to cater to his strength of information and knowledge, rather than the play-by-play?

Where did this move to Wednesdays suddenly come from?

And how inconsistent does this make both Destination America and TNA look when they are shifting nights and removing programming five months into their agreement?

Isn't inconsistency TNA's biggest annoyance as a fan?

and finally...

Is it possible for TNA to best last year's string of summer shows?

I Wore a Porzingis T-Shirt Today

The comments came all day long, and from everywhere.
"Nice shirt! Love me some Kristaps! If they trade him tonight, I tell you what, I'll help you chant 'Fire Phil'".
"They better keep the Unicorn in New York."
"Hey, did they trade Porzingis? Please tell me they didn't trade KP!"
These were some of the comments to come out of random conversations I had with complete and total strangers today as I rocked my Porzingis T-shirt jersey and some bright orange nike's. The move served as a therapeutic last ditch protesting effort to accentuating my (unfortunate) feelings for this basketball team representing this great and wonderful city. I'm with Porzingis.
The first comment was made by the spry female usher guiding me to my seat at the Barclay's Center. The second was a thirteen year old boy who stood behind me on the Will Call line sparking a conversation of angst, frustration, and disappointment with the team we chose to suppor…

Turning Thirty-Two

Today, I turn thirty-two. There is just something odd about this age - like twenty-three was, or twenty-eight was, you know, the mile markers in between the rest stops - that just doesn't carry the super significance as 21 and 30 did. Although, at this stage of life, there are many mile markers, and those celebratory rest stops are much, much fewer in between.
Though, it wasn't too long ago I passed a big one - thirty! And if you remember, I loved becoming AND being thirty. To be honest, I enjoyed being thirty-one, and really, thirty-two already seems kick-ass. Call me crazy, my thirties have been VERY enjoyable.
But as I turn thirty-two, there isn't much significance in the number, but truly, it's about the changes in myself. Thirty was just two years away, and I am already better than that version of myself. This year marked ten years since I've graduated from college (Things I Would tell My college Self), and I am a much better version of myself compared to t…

The Pondering 10 - All-Time Favorite Championship Belts

With the WWE finally moving on from the ridiculousness that was the appearance of the WWE championship (Really, they kept a spinning title for eight years), and of course the unveiling the look of the title, it got the wheels turning on the best looks for championship belts. From pro wrestling, boxing (although, don't expect to see any on this list as they are usually ugly), and mixed martial arts, there are plenty of different models, types, and appearances that come with them. The following Pondering 10 list is my favorite all-time championship belts.

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 1/31/16

3 Up
1. Awesome Nurse - I'm not fan of snow, but I do think everyone should at least experience it. After all, it's fun as a kid. So, when Lucy, a 7 year old recovering from bone marrow transplant, as well as others in the hospital, were unable to play in the snow storm that hit the North East earlier this week, a nurse braved the cold and mess, and brought the snow in. Sometimes a kind act is more than a simple one.
2. Angelique Kerber - Beating Serena Williams is no east feat. Beating Williams in the Australian Open final for the Australian championship - very difficult. Kerber pulled off the task. On top of that, she became a Grand Slam champion with the victory.
3. Radio Hosts Owns Caller - Bigotry lives, and these days, it's coming to the point where people aren't hiding it anymore. Listen to this caller who calls all Muslims, "maggots", his reasoning for it, and how the host really shuts him down.
3 Down
1. Kanye West/Amber Rose - I hate how our cultu…
