Pondering Picture #56

Soooooooooooo, yah. The NBA Draft Lottery was tonight, and like the sucker that I am, I believed (or really hoped) the Knicks would win it. After all, what franchise or fanbase other than us deserves such a break, right? Nope. We get the fourth pick - two spots lower than projected. Typical Knicks luck. I'm not sure if I will allow my future kids to be Knicks fans. Too much pain. I want the best for them. Certainly not this life...

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 3/11/18

3 Up
1. Basketball Student-Athletes - I'm not talking the programs, or the fans that support these programs. I'm giving the "Up" to those student-athletes who sacrifice and give their all for an experience they are about to embark on. Good luck to all of those who competed up onto this point, and those moving on in the NCAA Tournament.
2. Unsolved - This weekend, the wife and I started this latest series on the USA Network about the Murders of Biggie Smalls and Tupac. So far, it has been especially good. Well done, well detailed, and very dramatic. Giving a personal recommendation on this one.
3. MLS Soccer Sundays - Good to have Soccer Sundays back. And the first weekend, the MLS provided some very entertaining games, including Atlanta FC setting a new record for single-game attendance at over 72,000. Who said soccer isn't big in this country?
3 Down
1. White House School Safety Plan - I CAN NOT believe our leaders believe gun training for teachers is a viable…

The Pondering 10 - Favorite Things I Miss as a Kid

As I get older, the thoughts of childhood memories become fonder and fonder especially as the distance between that time and the present grows. As an adult, you watch the current generation doing certain things, and despite not exactly being in agreement with their ways, it takes you back to a certain time when you were in their position and how you enjoyed those crucial years for any individual. With summer in mid-swing, recently, I've become jealous of many youth because of what I remembered participating in as a child. Because of this, the following Pondering 10 will list my favorite things I miss as a kid:

2013 Bucket List - #26 Encourage a Guest Post - "Football: Dislike"

In a year where the DP has branched out to other sites, it's only natural that we have other contributors do so on this platform as well. As one of my goals for 2013, I wanted to have a guest blogger, and decided to go with my tag team partner (my wife for you DP newbies). See, she has an undying dislike for football, and I thought it would make for a good piece, would provide common ground for those that feel the same way, and of course, instant therapy for her problem with America's phenomenon. So without further adieu, here it is:

2018 Bucket List #1 - Visit Denver

I had the privilege and opportunity to visit Denver, Colorado this past week. I've never been to Colorado, and really, I've never been to much of the country that doesn't embrace a coastline. I've done both coasts and some areas in between - your Chicagos, Nashvilles, Dallas', and Vegas' - but that's about it.
So yeah, Denver, Colorado was going to be new and exciting for me.
Making the trip even more exciting was the fact that I would be presenting at the annual NIRSA conference, a governing body for those that are in my industry of higher education college recreation and wellness. So yes, regardless, Denver was going to be special.
