The IF Factor: Questions Answered #431-440

431. If you had to spend one weekend alone in a single store but could remove or add nothing, which store would you pick?

The easy answer would be Walmart, right? But I'm sure everyone has been to Walmart at least once, and it isn't exactly a place you would want to stay at. I'll go with Target. Everything I need is there. I'll throw together a few futons, play some video games, and enjoy the snacks/food/produce there is.

432. If you could referee or judge one sport as a permanent job, which would you choose?

Refereeing is not an easy gig. Not at all. But I wouldn't mind being an umpire in baseball.

433. If you could give a single piece of advice to the automobile industry, what would you tell them?

Keep it simple. Especially the American auto industry. Before the economic fallout of 2008, there was no wondering why the American auto industry was in the dumps - just look at the designs and makes of the products produced. Since then, it's been much better, especially in bringing back many of the classic muscle cars.

434. If you had to sacrifice your own life for one thing, what would it be?

My faith - Jesus.

435. If you could recover one thing you've lost in your lifetime, what would you wish to find?

I'm not sure I have any item per say, but there was a box containing many of my faimily's kitchen utensils marked very obviously, "Kitchen Utensils" which until this day, we have no idea where it disappeared to in a move between houses. For my parents, especially my mom, I wouldn't mind finding that box.

436. If you could memorize one book from history in its entirety, which book would you want it to be?

The Bible. That would be quite the feat. And even if you aren't a believer, it's a big book, and even you have to admit that would be impressive.

437. If you were given a yacht today, what would you name it?

Pondering Spirit. Ha!

438. If you were given a racehorse, what would you name it?

Metro Tropical. Yeaaaah, I'll go with that. I've never been into horse racing so...whatever.

439. If you had to name the best purchase you've ever made, which one would you choose?

As of right now, I would probably say car orrrrrrrr my college education, if you count that as a "purchase".

440. If you could have been told one thing that you weren't told when you were a teenager, what would you like to have heard?

Be yourself and follow your heart. Let's be honest, the teenage years are tough years in many areas in life.

Sunday Sundown Rundown - 5/20/18

3 Up
1. JJ Watt - Watt is just a stand-up guy. No other way to say it. An athlete that embraces the city he plays in, in times of good, and when he is needed. Paying for the funerals of all of the victims in the latest school shooting is just another example of the kind of dude Watt really is. So much props.
2. Sante Fe Admins - So many times in these shootings, the efforts and bravery of the many who help to keep students safe, calm, and diffuse the situation often goes without praise and notice. Once again, much love and praise to those who did so once again. And yes, to those who lost their lives doing so as well.
3. Las Vegas Golden Knights - In their inaugural season, the Golden Knights are in the Stanley Cup Finals, and quite frankly, could possibly win the whole damn thing. It's so impressive, and speaks to the parity of the NHL. But really, if you're a fan of a team currently in a drought (say, like my New York Knicks?), this run is absolutely remarkable.

Dear Son, On Location

--36 Weeks (Before Birth)--
Dear Son,
You've been acting up as of late, and really, something tells me that it won't be the last time I have to say that to or about you in the upcoming years. That's parenting, I guess. But you've become quite the active guy inside your mother's belly - kicking, shifting, spinning, and making her uncomfortable in the most random of moments.
I'll never forget you intentionally blocking your face during the recent sonogram photo. Or even, when they attempted to shift your body, you bending over and showing your butt to the monitor.
Already, such a proud father. That's my kid. But yeah, you're an active fella.

Thoughts on Latest NFL Anthem Policy Change

There is a part of me that didn't even want to EVER touch this topic again. I said what I said in the past on the highly controversial topic, and then followed up a year later, and vowed there was no point. After all, no matter how many times issues of clear social injustice is brought up, there will be those who will look to thwart it, especially by draping themselves in a false sense of "patriotism".
But, here we are. Another post on the this entire ordeal. I'm at a point where I simply laugh at callers on sports radio, political pundits on air, or even the casual individual who voices their opinion against the situation - thank you random guy at the gym, your commentary and viewpoints keep my grounded in America's pulse.
And now, the NFL, emboldened it all of it's arrogance, in it's lack of understanding, in it's negligence of player understanding or safety, and yes, it's fear of President Trump and it's supporters has managed to take so…

Dome Pondering Movie Review: Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017)

What is it about?
A mother challenges the authorities in town to capture the suspect responsible for her daughter's murder with three controversial billboards that stir up many feelings and a series of events in town.
Who is in it?
Frances McDormand - Mildred
Woody Harrelson - Willoughby
Sam Rockwell - Dixon
Favorite Scene:

After the billboards stir up much controversy in town, the local priest stops by to also attempt to use faith to get Mildred to take down the billboards. She then erupts in an awesome monologue comparing the Catholic church and it's authorities to the Crips and Blood gangs.
