The IF Factor: Questions Answered #141-150

141. If you would have a single button beside your bed that did one thing, what would you want it to be?

It would automatically make me a cup of tea (see: cup-o-tea maker from IF Factor Question #137)

142. If you could have one single kind of appliance attached to your bed, what would it be?

Either a computer touchscreen of some kind, or yes, my cup-o-tea maker. But that could be weird, so I'd go with a touch screen device to take care of some last minute payments, tasks, blogging, or a browse if need be before bed.

143. If you were to have Shakespeare to dinner tonight and could invite one other person from history, who would you pick?

Well if my wife wasn't already included, I'd pick her as she has a habit of being chameleon-like with accents and would instantly talk Shakespearian. If she's included, I'd go with someone like, Stone Cold Steve Austin. I just want to hear him say "what?" after everything Shakespeare would say.

144. If you could have prevented one book from ever having been written, which book would it be?

Just one? That's tough. I guess I'd go with a series...the Fifty Shades of grey series. How that is being passed as great American literature is beyond me.

145. If you had to name a smell that always makes you nostalgic, what would it be?

Easy - that island smell. It's hard to describe, but it's just that smell that hits you when you get off the plane in the islands of tropical nature. I grew up with it as a kid making trips down there, and I experienced it again when I went to St. Lucia in 2011. In my trip to the Bahamas, I realized that, unfortunately, it didn't quite have it. The tag team partner can vouch for this, every morning in St. Lucia, the first thing I did was open the balcony sliding doors to get a whiff of that smell. smmffffff, good stuff. Can't be explained in words, you just have to experience it.

146. If you could train a pet bird to do one thing for you and always return home again, what would it do?

Go get me a hero. Preferably, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes. No salt, no vinegar. And while you're at it, a sweet Arizona can of iced tea from the corner bodega. Thanks Getsy. And yes, I'd name it Getsy for obvious reasons.

147. If you could have been judge Lance Ito, what one thing would you have done differently?

Nothing. Really, what else could he have done. Johnny Cochran presented a miracle that got OJ acquitted.

Really weird question in this mix.

148. If you could have heard the deathbed confession of one person from history, who would you pick?

Adolph Hitler. That is must-hear stuff. Well, if there was even a deathbed confession.

149. If your children could read only four books while growing up, which would you have them read?

The Giver by Lois Lowry

Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger

Black Boy by Richard Wright

150. If you were to pick a city whose character best represents your own personality, which would you choose?

Ummm, New York City all day. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NYC all the way!

If I had to pick an alternative, I'd go with Los Angeles. There is a certain laid back vibe in LA that's appealing. Maybe not so much the glitz and glamour of LA, but something like Anaheim. Regardless, state-long beach front is very appealing.

DP Review of the Alternate Knicks Orange Jersey

One of the good aspects about having a blog and being truthful and honest about it, is the hindsight thought process it provides. DP devotees already know how much I love my New York Knicks, and how excited I was about their new jerseys last year. It was a new look that was desperately needed ( DP Review On Knicks New Uniforms ).  In reviewing those jerseys last year, I had the following comments in regards to then-rumors regarding the addition of an alternative orange jersey for the Knicks and overall NBA changes to the Christmas Day special jerseys:  "As long as we do not add an "alternative jersey" (I read rumors of an orange one - woof!) (and the league-wide Spanish jerseys are fine). And please, please - PLEASE - let's finally do away with the awful green jerseys we feel the need to wear on Christmas and St. Patrick's day! Pretty please!"

Quick Ponder: Daily Armor

Imagine, if we can see the dents and scratches, the smashes and chaos,  on the daily armor, each of us put on. Just imagine.

Predictions and Wild Guesses for the 2024 MLB Season

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports After an off-season where the Los Angeles Dodgers spent the equivalent of a nation's GDP to acquire talent - I'm not sure if that's factual, but it felt like it - the 2024 MLB Season is finally here.  Sure, this Yankees fan is not just annoyed with the big spending of the Dodgers, but yeah, secretly envious as well. That used to be us, man!  Regardless, baseball is back on the docket. While my beloved New York Knicks have my attention and all of my heart, including what has been a fun March Madness period for men's and women's basketball, it's soothing to have baseball back. I can't explain what it is, but baseball just does that for me.  Nonetheless, let's do what we do in this post every year. Here are my wacky predictions and wild guesses for the 2024 season.  --- STANDINGS (WINS) AL EAST Orioles - 93 Yankees - 90 Blue Jays - 85 Red Sox - 82 Rays - 80 AL CENTRAL Twins - 88 Tigers - 86 Guardians - 81 Royals - 70 White Sox -
