2012 All-Star DP Clash - Final Four

Here we go! We are now down to the final four of the DP All-Star Clash. These four have survived the craziness, the quirkiness, the foolishness, and just a little bit of logic to get this far. Making it through their respective bracekts, the four now look to head to the first ever DP Clash Finals. Similar to the last round, the final four format will include a best-of-seven criteria of more interesting topics.

This round's topics are 1. Best dressed; 2. Catchphrase; 3. T-Shirt Test; 4. Villain Threat; 5. Greatest Accomplishment; 6. The Wrestling Promo; and 7. Live Performance Payment (Which is worth the money live). With that said, let's get on with it.

The following is a review of the DP Clash Bracket:

#1 Bourne vs. #1 Batman

#1 Jason Bourne vs. #1 Batman

Best Dressed - This one is pretty easy. Bourne really is not one for fashion as he's always on the run, and pretty much is dressed for comfort. Batman's gear is already pretty cool in itself. However, when he entertains the people of Gotham as Bruce Wayne, the custom suits and sharp outfits are on display. Easy choice. (Batman 1-0)

Catchphrase Quality - Another easy one. Boune doesn't have one. He barely talks, and when he does, it's urgent and rushed. As for Batman, there are the tons of catchy ways Batman alerted Robin in the early TV Series. And of course, how can we forget the late classic, "Why so serious?" (Batman 2-0)

T-Shirt Test - We might be on our way to a sweep. I don't believe I've ever seen a Jason Bourne T-shirt. If I did, it would probably be awesome. However, the Batman logo on a t-shirt is sold everywhere and is a pretty popular look. (Batman 3-0)

Villain Threat - Batman may have the coolest villain in all of fictional character history in the Joker. In addition, there is Twoface, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Riddler, and many more. However, Bourne has an entire world trying to capture him. His villains come in all forms and Bourne has very little help in defeating them. (Batman 3-1)

Greatest Accomplishment - Hmmm...Escape every army and police force in the world, or continually saving one city, from the same villains? (Batman 3-2)

The Wrestling Promo - Who is more believable if they were to cut a wrestling promo? Honestly, Bourne would be that character that didn't talk, and possibly would need a manager to do it for him. Batman on the other hand has that cryptic, Undertaker-like persona going for him. It's always been intriguing, and works well for him. I'm sure he can look into a camera, cut a promo, and really get an audience excited about an upcoming match. And like we said, he already has the catchphrase. (Batman 4-2)

Result: Batman

#4 Manning vs. #8 Seagal

#4 Peyton Manning vs. #8 Steven Seagal

Best Dressed - Have you seen Steven Seagal in his movies? And now compare that to one of the best dressed athletes in all of sports. Yah, this is an easy one. (Manning 1-0)

Catchphrase Quality - Manning says all the right things in all of his interviews. The guy will never give you  too much to use against him, and will always do so to not get emotions too high, or give critics ammunition for the next week. Steven Seagal on the other hand will deliver cheesy line after cheesy line in his movies which eventually turn into cult-like sayings. Its terrible to reward stupidity, but in this case, it's hard not to. (Tied 1-1)

T-Shirt Test - Who in the world would ever wear a Steven Seagal t-shirt?! (Manning 2-1)

Villain Threat - Seagal always seems to have the quirkiest villains. From Jamaican drug lords, crooked prison officers, or not-so-smart Italian mafia members, the villains always make for an interesting film. However, like all of his movies, Seageal always defeats them, and easily so. Manning has had to deal with an entire league scheming for him, including rivals in the Ravens and Patriots over his career. (Manning 3-1)

Greatest Accomplishment - A Super Bowl victory over continually making millions for terrible movies. Tough choice. While a Super Bowl is hard to earn, it takes a special skill to be super terrible and still become a known commodity in Hollywood. (Manning 3-2)

The Wrestling Promo - While Seagal's lines are comedic in his movies, I feel like his promo for a wrestling match would be filled with so much non-sense it would leave the viewer confused or probably just force them to outright change the channel. One the other hand, Manning has a certain presence about his ability to communicate. He knows how to handle himself in front of a live camera. He'll get over what he needs to say in a timely fashion and in a way that will meet the objective. (Manning 4-2)

Live Performance Payment - And just for fun, would you pay to see Seagal perform over Peyton Manning? Didn't think so.

Result: Peyton Manning

#1 Batman vs. #4 Peyton Manning are set for the DP Clash Finals.

DP Review of the Alternate Knicks Orange Jersey

One of the good aspects about having a blog and being truthful and honest about it, is the hindsight thought process it provides. DP devotees already know how much I love my New York Knicks, and how excited I was about their new jerseys last year. It was a new look that was desperately needed ( DP Review On Knicks New Uniforms ).  In reviewing those jerseys last year, I had the following comments in regards to then-rumors regarding the addition of an alternative orange jersey for the Knicks and overall NBA changes to the Christmas Day special jerseys:  "As long as we do not add an "alternative jersey" (I read rumors of an orange one - woof!) (and the league-wide Spanish jerseys are fine). And please, please - PLEASE - let's finally do away with the awful green jerseys we feel the need to wear on Christmas and St. Patrick's day! Pretty please!"

Quick Ponder: Daily Armor

Imagine, if we can see the dents and scratches, the smashes and chaos,  on the daily armor, each of us put on. Just imagine.

Predictions and Wild Guesses for the 2024 MLB Season

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports After an off-season where the Los Angeles Dodgers spent the equivalent of a nation's GDP to acquire talent - I'm not sure if that's factual, but it felt like it - the 2024 MLB Season is finally here.  Sure, this Yankees fan is not just annoyed with the big spending of the Dodgers, but yeah, secretly envious as well. That used to be us, man!  Regardless, baseball is back on the docket. While my beloved New York Knicks have my attention and all of my heart, including what has been a fun March Madness period for men's and women's basketball, it's soothing to have baseball back. I can't explain what it is, but baseball just does that for me.  Nonetheless, let's do what we do in this post every year. Here are my wacky predictions and wild guesses for the 2024 season.  --- STANDINGS (WINS) AL EAST Orioles - 93 Yankees - 90 Blue Jays - 85 Red Sox - 82 Rays - 80 AL CENTRAL Twins - 88 Tigers - 86 Guardians - 81 Royals - 70 White Sox -
