2012 DP All-Star Clash - 2nd Round (MSG and Infinity and Beyond Brackets)

Well, here we are for the second round of more DP Clash action, and yes, nonsensical foolishness. Without further adieu, Let's jump into the match-ups to decide who moves on.

After the first round, here is the updated tournament bracket:

Madison Square Garden Bracket

#1 Batman vs. #5 Conan O'Brien

#1 Batman vs. #5 Conan O'Brien

These two bring a different type of "coolness" to the table that attracts fans, viewers and followers. Conan, a very odd, 50 year old Harvard graduate, that pretty much makes his living being goofy and entertaining us, and Batman, the coolest super hero there is, and is just as smart, educated, rich, and also has humor, albeit usually full of sarcasm.

Actually, both do their best work late nights in big cities. And yes, both have useless sidekicks (looking at you Robin and Andy Richter) that they can do with out, yet they bring them along for the ride anyhow.

However, when it comes down to it, Conan was once defeated by Jay Leno, and sent packing by NBC. Batman has no option to fail in his craft. And well, if he were Conan, he would have destroyed Leno and the rest of the NBC goons by of course, crashing through the top of the NBC headquarters. Conan put up a good fight, but this one is in the bank.

Result: Batman

#2 Jay-Z vs. #3 Jeremy Lin

#2 Jay-Z vs. #3 Jeremy Lin

The mighty "Jigga Man" against Lin-Sanity. Lin-sanity is a powerful force we experienced earlier this year with remarkable plays, game-winners, and unforgettable moments. He has captivated an entire nation, and has engaged a continent into caring about him and NBA basketball. As great as Lin-sanity has been, his run here in the DP Clash comes to a close as well. Jay-Z is simply too powerful. To quote him, "he's not a businessman, he's a business, man!"  From clothing, to cologne, to music, to professional sports, Jay-Z has it covered. Lin-sanity and it's cup of coffee in super-stardom cannot compare to a dynasty worth of excellence produced by Jay-Z.

Result: Jay-Z

To Infinity and Beyond Bracket

#1 Jason Bourne vs. #5 Katy Perry

#1 Jason Bourne vs. #5 Katy Perry

Let's be honest, it's hard to even say Katy Perry has a chance here against the number one seeded Jason Bourne. She managed to surpass the first round, but was lucky enough to have a first round match-up against the talentless Snooki. The case that will be made for Katy here is simple, shes attractive, shes talented, and she's very, very, relevant and current. However, Jason Bourne is too good. He'd use Katy's weaknesses of poor choice in men, her dependency on pro active solution, and her immature wild nights to defeat her. Yes Katy, you tried, but this DP Clash win also is one that got away.

Result: Jason Bourne

#2 Tim Tebow vs. #6 Guy Fieri
#2 Tim Tebow vs. #6 Guy Fieri

Despite being roughed up by Detective Stabler in round one, Tim Tebow managed to escape with a win. And yes, he was very excited. And well Guy Fieri, he just has one of the coolest jobs in the world. Both of these guys are super nice, and are well-known because of their ability to connect to fans because of their polite and likeable personalities. However, if you locked these two in a room in a face-off with the loser being the first one to lose their temper, you have to bet the house on Tim Tebow. He'd get psyched up like he usually does, and then just kill you with kindness and the overuse of the work "excited". I'm not sure Fieri would be able to take it. Plus, for a man that is used to eating fine meals every so often, I'm sure the hunger will eventually give way to his attitude.

Result: Tebowmania continues.
Result: Tebowmania lives on. would be able to take it. Plus, for a man that is used to eating fine meals every so often, I'm sure the hunger will eventually give way to his attitude.

Result: Tebowmania live

DP Review of the Alternate Knicks Orange Jersey

One of the good aspects about having a blog and being truthful and honest about it, is the hindsight thought process it provides. DP devotees already know how much I love my New York Knicks, and how excited I was about their new jerseys last year. It was a new look that was desperately needed ( DP Review On Knicks New Uniforms ).  In reviewing those jerseys last year, I had the following comments in regards to then-rumors regarding the addition of an alternative orange jersey for the Knicks and overall NBA changes to the Christmas Day special jerseys:  "As long as we do not add an "alternative jersey" (I read rumors of an orange one - woof!) (and the league-wide Spanish jerseys are fine). And please, please - PLEASE - let's finally do away with the awful green jerseys we feel the need to wear on Christmas and St. Patrick's day! Pretty please!"

WWE Wrestlemania XL Review: "I absolutely loved this Wrestlemania"

It's easy to get caught up and become a prisoner of the moment. Especially in today's world where the latest moment is ostracized, super-analyzed, and hyperbolized - it's very much the clickbait, social media, microwave society we live in.  Yet, even after acknowledging that (as well as my Tribal Chief, of course), I still come to this feeling that Wrestlemania XL is one of the best Wrestlemania's, ever.  Yes, ever!  I don't need Triple H's metrics and benchmarks to influence me. No, no, no! In terms of hype, storylines, payoffs, match quality, and just overall fun - this entire weekend was amazing.  I'm slightly skewed in my preference as well. This was my son's first Wrestlemania as a pro wrestling fan. Having him at my side cheering on his favorites, getting caught up in the drama, and even crying at the end of the night because his Tribal Chief lost to "that no good Cody" added to the overall appreciation of the event.  So yeah, I have some
